BLGC Volunteer Management Team Win Award!

Hot off the tail of our jam-packed Volunteer Week celebrations, Bolton Lads and Girls Club have been awarded an ‘Excellence in Volunteer Management’ award by Bolton CVS! We are incredibly excited and honoured to win this award, especially around Volunteering as it is something that we are really focussing our energies on at the moment. We aim to give every single person who volunteers their time and energy to the club the very best experience they can have, whilst also providing safe, inclusive and fun spaces for the young people of Bolton!

Our Volunteering roles are a great opportunity to get involved with the club, give something back to your community, meet people, learn new skills and really feel like you are a part of something special. We ensure that we get to know each and every single Volunteer that we take on through our onboarding process so that we can find the best volunteering role for you. We provide up-to-date and effective training to support you in your role, and then provide ongoing development, encouragement and regular catch-ups with staff as your journey progresses.

We love saying Thank You to all our volunteers and we make sure that we do it in lots of different ways, just so they know exactly how much we appreciate them all! We’ve recently started nominating a Volunteer each month for our ‘Volunteer of the Month’ award, which earns them a coveted spot on our Volunteer Wall of Fame and an invitation to our yearly, glitzy Patrons Dinner. We also make sure to celebrate birthdays, leavers and top-achieving Volunteers by awarding a certificate for those that reach 100 hours volunteered with the Club.

Not only do we get a really lovely award, but we also get £100 to put towards helping out our Volunteers – we haven’t decided what we’re going to spend it on yet, but we can guarantee it’s going to be good! If you like being rewarded for your hard work, have an hour or two a week to learn some new skills and fancy improving the lives of the young people of Bolton, then do consider volunteering with Bolton Lads and Girls Club. We have a whole host of opportunities on offer and can find a role to suit any age (16+), ability, or time frame.
